Uttara has many English medium schools, and choosing one is a big decision for any family. These are the questions we suggest every parent asks, whichever school they visit.
1. Which curriculum does the school follow?
Ask whether the school prepares students for Cambridge or Edexcel O and A Levels, and how the early years build towards them. A clear pathway from Pre-School to A Levels means your child doesn’t need to change schools later.
2. How big are the classes?
Smaller classes mean teachers know every child by name and notice quickly when someone needs help or a new challenge.
3. Is the campus safe and caring?
Look at how children arrive and leave, who supervises play time and how the school handles first aid. Watch how teachers speak to children. Warmth matters as much as rules.
4. What happens beyond the classroom?
Celebrations, crafts, gardening, sports and stage performances build confidence. Ask to see photos of recent events.
5. How does the school talk to parents?
Regular updates, parent-teacher meetings and an easy way to ask questions, such as WhatsApp, make a big difference day to day.
- Visit during a school day if you can
- Ask about admission tests and fees in writing
- Talk to current parents
- Notice whether the children look happy
