Our campus in Sector 6, Uttara turned into a small world this month. For our United Nations Celebration, children came to school dressed in costumes from different countries, carrying paper flags they had coloured in class.
Learning about the world
In the days before the celebration, classes talked about what the United Nations does and why countries work together. Children found flags on the map, learned to say hello in new languages and talked about what makes each culture special, including our own.
On stage
On the day, students stood proudly in front of our United Nations banner, waved their flags and performed for friends and teachers. Many children wore Bangladeshi dress beside costumes from across Asia, Europe and the Americas, a lovely picture of the friendship the day stands for.
