Learning by Doing: Crafts, Gardening and Play in Our Early Years

Pre-school children filling flower pots with soil during a gardening activity

Young children learn best with their hands. That’s why our Pre-School and early Primary classrooms are full of paper, paint, soil and laughter.

Crafts that teach

Paper fish, caterpillars and crowns aren’t just decorations. Cutting, gluing and colouring strengthen small hand muscles, teach colours and shapes, and give children something they’re proud to take home.

Little gardeners

On Planting Day, children filled pots with soil and planted seedlings. Now they water them and watch them grow, an early lesson in science, patience and responsibility.

Stop, wait, go

During our road safety project, children learned what each traffic light means, then built and decorated their own paper cars. It’s an important lesson for families travelling on Dhaka’s busy roads.

Values every day

Our classroom boards remind children to be kind, be honest and be brave. Teachers talk about these values in stories, games and everyday moments.

Every activity is planned around early literacy, numeracy and social skills, so play and learning go hand in hand.
